Re: Cheddar Gorge to Brean Beach Pictures
i am really impressed with the meet - it was a great day out and ended up with great photos, great weather and great giggles. which is one of the reasons i like this club so much
the first lot of photos are from when i turned up (on time - for a change ) we had a dive up and down the canyon as it sounded awesome and the roads are really fun to drive - bumped into inspectorprirot and aaron114 and found a car park to wait for the others. and got some great photos of the scenery at cheddar we then met up with everyone else (apart from imgoingspace who decided he like traffic jams better than meets ) tried some climbing to find a phone signal - no signal but great view point for some photos of our cars
imgoingspace eventually turned up and joined the meet just before the convoy to Brean..

Re: Cheddar Gorge to Brean Beach Pictures
we then drove to Brean just as the sun came out - we ended up with amazing weather, blue skys, sun and hardly any wind. perfect beach weather really. the cafe was really nice with great food. we took advantage of the great weather and sat outside overlooking the sea and sand dunes.
after food we headed back to the beach parking, the beach was really quiet so we had lots of room to move the cars around for photos.. - bex

Re: Cheddar Gorge to Brean Beach Pictures
a few sneaky action shots for a couple of members left the beach looking like this. we were lucky the beach was empty enough to drive around and do this and there wasn't many around to be hazards to whilst a few photos were taken.
last ones standing:
marcus, dodge, zs and myself.
we spent a little while longer hours soaking up the sun on the beach and wandering down to the tide (after moving the cars back a safe distance ... you know - just incase )
these are some of the distance pictures looking back up the peach at our cars, shame my cameras not too great for distance and the tide was quite a distance away.
i also took this picture through my mirror of dodge and marcus leaving the beach after us . we also drove past stonge henge on the way home which look pretty cool in the sun
thanks again to everyone who attended it was a great meet and day out hope you all enjoyed it just as much too!

Looks like an excellent meet and the weather was on your side.
Marcus how did you even get on the beach being that low?

With difficulty. The sand was pretty solid, it had been flattened by traffic (by the fence) so much that there were a few sand pot-holes, but they weren't an issue... I bottomed out on two speedbumps on the way in and one on the way out, there's this gate and you can't angle it

It was a great day out, epic sights at cheddar gorge. The sun however at Bream was a killer, I am also sunburnt, neck, ears and arms are sore today.

Re: Cheddar Gorge to Brean Beach Pictures
sun burn , yes ouch! i'm suffering too today because of it. - i'm blaming the weather forecast for saying it would be overcast! though i cant complain too much at such fantastic weather, but i think a few of us must have caught it bad..InspectorPoirot wrote: It was great, I have a horrific sunburn though now
and i also have no idea how you managed to get over those speed bumps your car is very low.

nope you can't complain at sand, you didn't put a log haired dog in the boot! after he had been in the sea then rolled in the sand for good measure!ImGoingSpace wrote:barely any in mine :/Aaron114 wrote:I had sunstroke being an albino...... ive just spent the last 3 hours cleaning sand from my car!! Re: Cheddar Gorge to Brean Beach Pictures
So to add my thoughts: had a fantastic day Cheddar Gorge was great, never been there before, I hadn't realised it was so open and so many car parks haha. A bit disorganised getting everyone together at first as the cafe we were looking for didn't seem to exist, and leaving Cheddar through a narrow road led to a slight disaster but we all gathered back together at a fuel station about half an hour later and convoyed to Brean!
Jason provided plenty of amusement by deciding to ignore the massive sign saying 'Brean beach' and drove off down what can only be described as a farm track We bought some extortionate food and drink (or just drink in my case, £1.20 for a can of coke is more than enough for one day) and drove on the beach to take plenty of photos, followed by a few donuts in the sand And a walk down to the seafront.
All in all a great time had, my arms are still severely stinging from the burns (I wasn't expecting so much sun, none of us were I don't think) but it was worth it! Here are the photos I took
