Yes thank you for that Daz, it was named the 'SuperGun' to be precise.

It was a piece of engineering to be used to launch projectiles into the air at great velocity indeed be that rocket based, projectiles or even satellites, none of which came to fruition.

I saw an Avenger (for that is what it is) outside of the A10 at Mildenhall one year, it's a truly impressive piece of kit - damned near 20ft long, and with sufficient recoil force to theoretically stall the plane if the burst is too long. Used to go down Holbeach Marshes and watch the Warthogs strafing at the marshes. The noise was mind-buggering, you'd not want to be on the receiving end...

Cheers mate - yeah thats Bertie.Wheels are anthracite but due to the general lack of sunlight today they look black as the ace of spades in photos
