Just added my big brake kit, induction kit and tinted windows to the policy (all of the mods so far now done).

BBK was free, as was the tinted windows. The induction kit cost a grand total of just under £28 till the end of the policy!

We went with Adrain Flux last year after being with Sky the previous year , we will see what they both offer in a few weeks time when mine is up again .........

This was the first time I rang them and it's the best prices I've ever been offered. I'll bear that in mind for the future though, thanks :)

Watch out sky don't like you shopping round for a good deal lol. If you quotes over a few years but dont take them up you get flagged and they will refuse to quote you.

But thats just my beef with them. Hopefully you'll be fine with them.

Just bought my car insurance with Sky.

My renewal from Adrian Flux was just over £780 with £450 excess, my quote with Sky was £700, after a couple of mins was down to £650 with £200 excess.

Rang Adrian Flux back and couldn't do a better monthly deal - Sky was £182.50 deposit and £55 per month, Adrian Flux was £102 deposit and £73 per month.

Rang a couple of other insurers from here and they quoted me a lot higher. From Go Compare the best price was just under £780.

EDIT - After ringing AF back to cancel the insurance renewal, they then asked what the other company offered me and matched the monthly payments apart from the excess, I told them no and when they asked why, I said that beforehand that was the best deal they could offer me and now they've changed it, they should have just offered me that deal the first time!

i was with sky, till this year , found luke really easy to work with , but this years quote was high , i moved on

I took a policy out with them, 6 yr NCB Protected, 28, full comp= £325

Just rang these guys this morning and their quote was almost £200 cheaper than the next one (Hastings)! Took the policy straight away. Good stuff.

What my colleague Luke would have been trying to avoid is getting into a bidding war with another insurance broker. The other company mentioned are the UK largest insurance broker, if they wish to undercut our rate they will do, my colleague Luke however has his hands tied a little, he can only refer our quotation back to our underwriter once if our price is beaten.

Oh really? i didnt know anything about that :confusion-shrug: Maybe this guys customer service could be worked on then i guess.

I know insurance companies need to make money too, but we all will shop around for the best deal, I kind of felt pressure to deal and a "I don’t care" attitude when I wanted to shop around.

You know what, i think youre onto the right idea there.

Gone are the days where you could depend on one company year after year to give the right prices - and the best way of going about business was a quick phone call. Welcome change imho.

It seemed to work for the majority but not all.

The typical car we insure (eg modified, imported) really needs a human being rather than a online quotation facility.
