Re: TSIII Front Subframe

I should add that also apparantly if the subframe bushes ever go these are not available as a replacement part it's a new subframe job as well so if you do end up getting a replacement subframe it might be an idea to press out (assuming you can press them out I don't know) and keep the old bushes ju...

Re: TSIII Front Subframe

When I was looking for a used fuel filler neck I found this Ebay seller in Wales breaking a TSIII and their filler neck was much better looking than all the other used ones on Ebay and I noticed they were selling a front subframe also that looked in good condition compared to all the others out ther...

Re: Identifying Rear Stabiliser Bushes for SIII Coupes

Your bar is correct, those bushes supplied by Hyundai are correct, I'm guessing what has happened is you have polybushes that were supplied as a bush and a bracket combo. Some polybush makers supplied a brass coloured bracket with their bush because it was easier for them to do this than to shape th...

Re: Where can I buy exhausts parts in EU?

Fair enough, I never actually noticed it was a Gen 2, how about a custom exhaust place then, is it cheaper or at least no dearer to have a full bespoke stainless custom exhaust made, apparently Gen 2 exhaust parts are expensive to begin with and this would solve the need for replacement in 2 years t...

There is all the exhaust pipes and boxes you need on Ebay, delivery in a couple of days and usually included in the price and you have varying options on price and quality.

Re: Prospective Coupé-er

Welcome to the club FOUR GRAND!!!! Not sure I would pay that for an SIII, though it does look to be in great condition. It's MOT history is very clean (1 fail for parking brake back in 2013). Not sure on its service history though. Good luck with the viewing I was going to post the exact same that ...

Re: Prospective Coupé-er

Good luck with the purchase, I must admit I am a fan of Toyotas as their reliability cannot be beat and have owned a good few but you do get fed up looking at grey plastic and the coupe certainly remedies that, the interior feels a lot more special than the Toyota.

Re: Weird Windscreen Wipers

I had this happen on a MK1 Honda Legend I used to own, because the car was so old and so rare I could not get the parts to replace it so I fixed it by using a strong rubber band around the linkage bars, it was strong enough to keep them together and flexible enough to allow for the continual movemen...

Re: Weird Windscreen Wipers

Check the wiper spindle for a loose nut or a stripped grip thread, if everything looks OK remove the plastic scuttle and start checking the wheelbox and linkage arms.

Re: Slow Thud from underneath the car

Is there ventilation to the petrol tank?, if it's a vented tank and that venting is blocked the petrol tank which is plastic could be expanding and contracting in "thumps" due to the constriction.

Re: Do you want the good news or the bad news?

I'm sorry but I cannot believe brexit has got anything at all to do with an increase in car repairs. More like an excuse to steal even more cash off the motorist. I honestly imagine that inside these insurance companies all the employees are sat wearing black eye masks and ride a horse called black...

Personally I would to the comparison Website hunt for insurance, Go Compare, Compare the Market etc. Then phone the top handfull of companies with the cheapest quotes directly to ensure they accept a no claims discount built up in another country as many do.

I take it you can just call a dealer and give them your reg. no and check if there are any recalls relevant to your vehicle outstanding.

Re: car windscreen washer doesnt seem to work gen 3.5 ?

More than likely the pump strainer is blocked by gunk, they are bad for this, Turn wheels fully left and remove one of the splashguard clips just so you can get your hand through into the wash bottle and just pull out the pump from the bottle and pick out the gunk from the strainer and refit.

Re: Wannabe Coupe Owner

Hi mate, I went from a 1.7 EM2 Civic Coupe to a 2.0 Hyundai Couple and the Civic was definately more agile and lively in the engne department but I far prefer the Hyundai. To me the Hyundai Coupe is like driving a late 90's 2.0 Toyota Camry, even the switchgear is the same but thats not a criticism ...

Best drop links are the MOOG ones from the US, I got a pair of rears from Amazon US when I bought my car 2 years ago and they cost me £46 the pair inc. postage but they are so well made and heavy duty compared to the £12 a pair Ebay ones, plus they have zerk fittings so you can regrease them yoursel...

Re: V6 Crankshaft failure AKA Knock'o'death

Can you not buy oversize bearings? Usually you can get a crank regrind and fit oversize bearings to compensate. If the crank bearings are thin and the problem then surely oversize thicker bearings will help this problem. You just take your chances and hope for the best but if they do go you shell ou...

Load resistors fitted in the indicator wiring is all you need, because LED bulbs draw less current they flash faster as there is not the same load on the flasher unit relay.
