Yeah I thought it was that black ring, I had taken if off of my old blue coupe whilst playing with the ignition and the start button and wondered why the car didn't start, put that back on and it worked fine but just wanted to check!

Where did you get a new one from?

Bit harsh your car not starting because of your computer skills! :laughing-rollingyellow: So what was happening to you? Unlock car, key in, go to start the car and it just turned over without starting? Turn back a click, go back and then it would start? Out of interest did you have a flashing light ...

I mean it stutters open, like now I can press the button and it opens up and shoots straight back, previously I would hold the button and it would stutter open (only way I can think to describe it)

Just in case it helps, I had an issue with my sun roof opening in stages instead of in one smooth motion, to fix this I pulled the unit out of the roof, stripped it down to the switch and then sanded off the contacts to clean them up, I got this idea off of someone on NewTib who had learnt this tric...
