Mine was the old classic of jacking the rear up and whilst the jack was moving the car wasn't... Just had a quick browse through... when using a trolley jack, place a cloth over the contact surface to prevent the jack rubbing off the underseal and inevitably causing that area to rust. ;) Same thing...

Not necessarily... It's usually down to the poor fitment/quality of the add-on that causes the paint to crack. As they're usually made of fibreglass and flex; which eventually causes the paint to give way.

9/10 times, the reluctor ring behind the hub face will be cracked. Only about £10-£15 for a new one.

Same for gen 2.

The washer jet seal is usually the one that fails - not necessarily the one around the window.
