CHANGES TO DIBS

DIBS IS THE TERM USED THAT YOU WISH TO BUY AN ITEM.
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY-
First Member to put 'dibs' (which is simply them saying they want to buy it) on the thread is COMMITTING TO BUY THE ITEM and the seller is OBLIGED to sell it to them. Anyone seeing the thread will see this has happened.

The word dibs can be accompanied by either-
Money in hand
Payday

Of money in hand the seller must respect this. However payday if the seller has advertised and sells elsewhere then that is fair.
MY DECISIONS ARE FINAL AS ARE THOSE OF MODERATORS.

YOU SHOULD ALWAYS PLACE DIBS ON THE AD BEFORE SENDING THE SELLER ANY PM

we would ask sellers to respect this and should we feel anyone is not adhering to site rules, your post/ad will be removed.

NO SECOND DIBS ALLOWED

You may register interest if you wish but if buyer drops out the seller will notify on the post the next person to state dibs after the sellers new post wins.
Anyone found to be putting dibs and backing out may have your ability to sell/buy removed.sellers should notify me of problems with sales/buyers.

This protects EVERYONE
Look out guys it’s him that thinks he’s in charge!

Please note this still applies. You cannot post a car for sale if your post count is less than 25 :angry-nono: . If you do it WILL be deleted :confusion-shrug:

I'm assuming this doesn't count with things also listed elsewhere.

Are you asking if a new member can share an eBay link or something?

No i was just flicking through as you do. Noticed the dibs bit and thought how does that work with gumtree ebay etc... end of the day everyone wants best price whether buyer or seller which is great but the dibs bit wont work with gumtree and ebay unless there is a rule here saying if its on here it goes to the dibber and all other avenues become null and void. This to me will reduce amount of peeps on here selling to members as they will be forced to sell at whatever price was dibsed at.

I think that's aimed at people selling something here only for a predetermined price. Some people put things on eBay and link here but that's not really the same, so dibs wouldn't work really.

Yup. Just remember the rules are more or less something that folks never come across unless they start being a bell end.
They are there to help not hinder so they are not always enforced with an iron rod, long as you don't take the [wee wee] ;)

I dare say some folks could get by without ever reading them. It's all common sense really.
