The Gen3 vw build

Now I know that the purist coupe lovers wont agree but here is current progress so far on the stripped out agu turbo conversion of my coupe.

This car will purely be for speed and not comfort although I am hoping to have it road legal and use it at track days.

So far I have totally stripped the interior with the view of lightweight bucket seat, harness, half dash, full race harness and roll cage. Keeping the car as light as possible.
I am dropping her on some d2 coilovers with some 8j rota's with some slight camber. Both front and rear bracing will be introduced to stiffen her up.
Engine wise I am replacing the stock 2.0 with a 1.8turbo agu engine. Bigger injectors, front mount, ko4 turbo, remap and an upgraded clutch. My target figure for this engine is 275hp with the possibility of a water meth kit depending on road laws and mot.
External will be pretty much the same.
Satin black paint work on white alloys with a front splitter upgrade and the high rise spoiler.
I am debating a small bonnet scoop and mounting an oil cooler in the engine bay as I think they look silly on the frontt.

So this is the idea, I have started and I will keep you posted with updates and pics. Any help and advice would be appreciated!!

Looking forward to seeing this take shape, best of luck dude!

Regarding the I/c location, there's a fair amount of space in front of the radiator between the front fender, with some trimming it may be possible to keep it hidden yet in direct airflow. Depending on the shape of course.

Be sure to weigh everything you remove too, for posterity. Once you're done get it on a weighbridge and see where you are bhp/tonne :D

Well so far I have bought the agu engine including turbo, front mount, boost pipes, stripped the car and removed old engine. Currently wax sealing the bottom up :)
