Where can I buy exhausts parts in EU?

#1

Post by cainy »

Hey

My exhaust is falling apart, Its already been welded twice this year in the UK due to corrosion, this rubbish exhaust in general lasted 2 years but now needs to be replaced. Problem is Im kinda stuck in France with no plans to come to UK this year, official Hyundai service here charges 108 euros/hour just to see what the problem is :icon-lol: no thanks, I know I have a hole in the pipe.

Problem is I can get the parts from usa, but the shipping costs are as much as the parts, is anyone selling the Y pipes, mufflers for gen 2 in Europe?

There is all the exhaust pipes and boxes you need on Ebay, delivery in a couple of days and usually included in the price and you have varying options on price and quality.

Fair enough, I never actually noticed it was a Gen 2, how about a custom exhaust place then, is it cheaper or at least no dearer to have a full bespoke stainless custom exhaust made, apparently Gen 2 exhaust parts are expensive to begin with and this would solve the need for replacement in 2 years time.

No idea how much a bespoke system would cost, one garage could do nothing for me as they cant get the parts and if theyre only available overseas I guess its worth looking into whats about in the area for custom made. Problem is i assume they will charge the value of the car for the work because its custom.

I finally managed to find it on eurocarparts and could get it shipped to france for a fiver haha!

the item in question is this https://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Hyun ... 60f&000536

Has anyone used this Klarius brand before? its a UK brand, not much info but on their site it says they make them from stainless steel and it should fit my coupe, no pictures or anything just a drawing.

Klarius is a recognised brand and is one of the brands used by the big chains like Kwik Fit and Halfords. There a quite a few members with various bits of Klarius exhausts, mainly the flexi middle pipe on the Gen3 onwards.

People should really stop expecting normal from me... It's never going to happen :icon_cool:

Cool, seems like a good deal and its probably the same exhaust as I have now, although this one rotted out pretty fast. I assume it is a Y pipe with 2 mufflers that will fit onto the old long pipe with no issues, gonna try go under the car today see how far the damage is.

Had some fun today replacing the exhaust. Replaced the centre silencer and rear mufflers, just look at the damage! Thanks England for the salt!!! :icon-lol: The centre pipe was actually healthy, so I might have got away without buying it and turns out I overpaid for it, can get those at onlineautomotive.co.uk for over 40quid. The front downpipe is also dead and has a hole, didnt saw it until today so in the near future will have to change that one too.

Gen2 header/downpipes inc cat can be had for £85 delivered but yours is a gen3/3.5?

Gen2 do not have dual exits.

your other option of course for supplier is autodoc but be careful as some stuff is cheap and nasty.
e.g. the cheap gen2 wheel bearings, they last year to 18 months tops! Think shark or stark brand (I forget now)

They do sell branded stuff too and free shipping, they based in Belgium.

£85 for CAT and centre pipe? The cheapest CAT converter ive seen is £125 and the centre pipe that connects to it was £42. And the worst price for CAT was £600
