Body control module

#1

Post by thedupleman »

The body control module is a notorious piece of kit that costs 500 quid from Hyundai and causes big problems.

On top is a relay which fails causing problems with central locking(complete failure and fuse blowing) failure of the sunroof(same fuse) and indicator fuse blowing(marked hazard by right knee) and can be easily spotted by unusual behaviour such as no indicators or even a stuck on indicator that won't go off. Pain the ass basically. Take it to Ross at Tiburon Automotive for 100 ish he will change the relay and your laughing. A second hand one may just lead to same problems. Check with members if you suspect you have the issue

Look out guys it’s him that thinks he’s in charge!

As some may know my im having trouble starting my car in the cold, but after a few, mins sitting in the car it will start.

I get a clicking sound from the fuse box on the right by my knee, also the indicators wont work until the car seems to warm a little.

Would this be the BCM at fault?

Met Ross the other day. Incredibly knowledgeable and easy to talk to. I'm very lucky to live half an hour from his garage.
If you live miles away, any phone/TV/computer repairer worth his salt should be able to solder new relays on for you if you provide them
