Save me typing it all again:

Apart from the usual checks for rust and mechanical issues with any car, give the sills as good a check as you can bearing in mind the plastic covers, and make sure the clutch is not slipping. The bite point is unusually high, but get it nice and hot and floor it around 50 or so in 5th, and make sure the revs don't rise quicker than the car does!

Check all the electric motors (window lifters, central locking, mirrors and sunroof) work OK, these are typical weak spots, but needn't be costly to fix if you are handy with cars. Parts can be sourced direct from South Korea via Ebay. Finally, check the sunroof frame for rust under the glass. Again, one from a breaker is cheap and 4 bolts to fit.

You're a year older then me. Welcome!

No Dougal! This one is small, but that one is far away. Small. FAR away!

Have a read through the various posts here on HCOC. The Diaries are good reads as they often contain a lot of info along with the DIY's as they have a lot of the common issues and how to fix them. Most common issue with the older ones is rear wheel arch corrosion and subframe corrosion especially the rear subframe

Good luck with your search :handgestures-thumbupleft:
People should really stop expecting normal from me... It's never going to happen :icon_cool:
