Blue Siii 1.6

#1

Post by robertoilie »

Hi all,

Good to finally join the community here. Not getting much back from other coupe owners I wave at on the road :icon-lol:

I got a 1.6 Blue Siii That's in the garage getting some work done right now. Have done most mods/improvements to it outside of turbo/coilovers, totalling about £2k in mods so far.

Will put pictures up once she gets out of surgery.

Cheers!

Thanks the welcome guys!

I know it's quite a bit of money but the car wasn't in a great condition when I got it from the seaside (very rusty).

Over time it became way more than just a car, and it's my main hobby now!

Started off with a stainless steel cat back, K&N CAI, 8k xenons, now getting 4-2-1 headers decat, short throw stick with a Momo GTR2 Knob, rebadge to tuscani, mtec discs, yellow calipers.. A lot of general maintenance (timing belt etc.) and changed a lot of the suspension setup due to rusting (tie rods). Cleaned out the underside of rust & sealed it. Basically tried getting the car to as near to brand new+improvements as possible. Not much work on the engine outside of injector cleaning & new sparks, as it's never gonna go too far from 103 horsies.

But of a list there, but I'm well chuffed about her. Since college I've had my eyes on a Gen 3(siii seemed too expensive. Ended up getting her in 2nd year of uni after a lot of hard work and saving up. :)

Oh niiiiiice, any idea what the number of horses it's throwing out now? When you've only got 103 anything is a bonus haha.

One hell of a student car, well done mate!

I'd have to take it to a dyno to see. It felt like it was running a bit better after the cat back, tho I'm curious whether the decat will have a noticeable impact on performance. Been reading quite a bit on back pressure requirements on the smaller engine coupes. I'll make a post next week to share my experiences for sure!
