Hi from South Wales

Hi all,

I've already made the acquaintance of one or two members here from the Hyundaicoupeclub.co.uk forum.

I've just purchased my first Coupe, a 2002 Gen 3 2ltre SE finished in Carbon Blue. I bought it for a good price because although it had a full service history it did have a few minor faults when I bought it.

- Slight misfire at tickover - now diagnosed to leaking intake gasket. Awaiting new gasket to resolve.
- It'll require one new tyre in the next couple of months.
- Scuff to front bumper - now repaired.
- Non-working driver's window - now repaired, but will require new motor before too long.
- Sticking sunroof - now working.

I love driving the coupe, it's a lot of car for the money I paid (£650) and certainly a much different driving experience from my other car which you can probably gather from my logon name is a MGB GT (1973). The MG has been my daily driver for the past four years, but now I've decided it would be unfair on it (and me!) to put it through another winter, so the Coupe is to be my daily smoker. I'm hoping to the the gasket done this weekend, apart from that it'll be given a good polish & wax. The only other improvement I'm looking to do at the moment is to refurbish/replace the original wheels which are showing their age.

Anyway, as you're no doubt aware what these cars look like, so here's just one quick picture taken last weekend.

You're in denial, silver is just bleached-out Carbon Blue :icon_wink:

Thanks for the warm welcome all. :text-thankyouyellow:

Good news is I finished work @ three today and fixed the misfire this afternoon, new gasket has done the job and she ticks-over like a watch now.

Tomorrow was due to be the fixit day, but now a clean-up and polish job is on the cards. :icon-biggrin:

Anyone here going to Tredegar House Show on Sunday?
