Hello Chris welcome aboard.

Look for the obvious squeaks and bangs, seats don't wear we'll on bolsters you must check all electrics and try locking two or 3 times, check alarm and it has two fobs, look for obvious rust(walk away) and check servicing that mileage should not really be an issue
Look out guys it’s him that thinks he’s in charge!

Welcome aboard.

Daz pretty much summed up everything you need to look out for. I wouldn't worry about the mileage. Mine has over 100k now and its still tiptop.

thanks all

i did ask the garage if the cambelt has been changed but he said there is no evidence of it even though there is a full service history, so that'll be first on the list i may even be able to knock him down a few hundred too with any luck

it has a 3 month warranty and only 1 former keeper so it all looks good im quite excited :icon-lol:

Dont worry about mileage get all the belts done when it hits 100k. Mine has done nearly 170k without any major issues, expect the manifold and cat to die after about 150k discs last about 100k so factor that in.

Welcome and enjoy that car, I am jealous of that new car feeling, for me it was just over a year ago and that first weekend of driving it was brilliant, I bought mine from Bristol and drove it through the mountains etc back to the New Forest where I was staying on holiday and then back to Essex where I was living at the time a few days later....just BRILLIANT.

Enjoy

:text-welcomewave: . Alls been covered, but in my opinion things have a number of operations to do before replacement and don't want you to cop for things comin to the end of their workin life. Do all checks possible, contact last owner etc and don't get emotional. That's reson why it's cheap but if you need garages 2 do work omg... Best of luck, sorry just my opinion as an engineer. Fingers crossed. Ps I was aware of issues with my 99evo but took it on anyway :icon-lol: :angry-banghead:

thx for the help guys I went to have a look at it and test drove it but it was a bit of a dog tbh it had rust on the tailgate and bonnet and it was being sold from some right dodgy garage it didnt start when i tried so the guy had to jump it then the engine light was on and while under the bonnet the guy sprayed WD40 onto the engine lol it was like something out of a comedy show I drove it but the clutch was really really high and when I floored it it made a load of noise but didnt go anywhere so I reckon the clutch was slipping too and the brakes OMG, a rock hard pedal with no braking power at all now I know why it was so cheap £2500 on a 06 plate :icon-lol:

apart from that I love the look and the drive was pleasant enough i think i'll save my pennies and get an SIII with low miles for around £5k ish

:text-yeahthat: also £2500 for a 3.5 is about the going rate, its not especially cheap eitherway, i have an 03, not even 60k on it, and i dont expect it to be worth 1500
