Hello Fellow Members - Gen 2 Help

#1

Post by Wild »

Hello fellow members.
I have just bought my first coupe, a 2001 2.0 Litre gen 2 that needs quite a lot of TLC. :icon-biggrin: I am hoping that some experienced members will be kind enough to help me out with some information.
Does anyone have an electronic version of the owner’s manual?
The air intake has been modified with a K&N type aftermarket air filter. In this modified set up there is no MAF sensor fitted. Should there be one fitted?
Also the exhaust has been modified. From the exhaust manifold there is twin down pipe(no Cat) the cat is now under the car between the twin down pipes and the single pipe to the rear of the car. Is this a known modification?
Thank you for any help. :text-thankyouyellow:

Hi, thank you for all the welcomes and the advice given. :handgestures-thumbupleft: Should the two cooling fans operate at the same time?

Yes I have looked under the heat shield. It looks like a std manifold.

Sure, I will do one over the weekend. The air filter is a powermax, is it worth keeping?

Yes, it was very dirty. I have washed it out (foam type). Will reoil when dry. I think This coupe is going to take quite alot of TLC to get it back on the road. :icon-lol:
