Thanks!rikthornton wrote:Bottom one is straight out of a promo brochure IMO
To be honest, out of the loads of photos I took hanging out the passenger window only a small few were actually ok - it was luck more than it was skill!

Re: Duxford IWM Meet 26.01.14
Yes thank you for that Daz, it was named the 'SuperGun' to be precise.
It was a piece of engineering to be used to launch projectiles into the air at great velocity indeed be that rocket based, projectiles or even satellites, none of which came to fruition.

Re: Duxford IWM Meet 26.01.14
you think thats impressive......have a look on youtube for the goalkeeper/phalanx systems that are used on RN vesselsrikthornton wrote:I saw an Avenger (for that is what it is) outside of the A10 at Mildenhall one year, it's a truly impressive piece of kit - damned near 20ft long, and with sufficient recoil force to theoretically stall the plane if the burst is too long. Used to go down Holbeach Marshes and watch the Warthogs strafing at the marshes. The noise was mind-buggering, you'd not want to be on the receiving end...smokebelch wrote:LOVING the gattling on the front of that A10 tankbuster (warthog)
