Bought a Gen 3.5 for some summer fun...and the leather seats
Hi Folks
Just bought a very cheap 56 plate Gen 3.5, possibly one of the last Gen 3.5 models.
Registered in Dec 2006.
Got it cheap cos the head gasket might be on its way out but we'll see how it behaves over the next few weeks.
Planning on getting the car track ready for a track night in August.
Its not fast so concentrating on handling and making it more fun to throw around.
I've been modding cars for about 15 years and have many years messing about with rusty Nissans.
Last car was a Primera GT with a Pulsar GTiR engine and plenty of handling mods. Sold that to a friend who will hopefully tune it further.
Cheers
Kenny

Nice car for the track, Had my old 3.5 at the Nurburgring last May. Didn't end well (Written off) but never felt like it shouldn't be there. Of course everything shot past me but was nice being able to go around in comfort at a moderate pace.
Can imagine with the right modifications it would be quite good for a proper racer although not the fastest thing out there.

We recently had a meet around the Trossachs and Loch lomond with another roughly planned for the end of April/start of May. Keep an eye out on the Scotland section.

Oh forgot to mention its the 2.0, was gonna get a 1.6 but thought that would be far too slow and also the full leather plus cruise control swayed it.
Signs of getting old lol

Yeah, if you want to put it on a track, the 2.0 would be better. I'm not getting old my any means (22) but I love the cruise control! :P

Welcome mate, I see you have history of engine swaps well it's been talked about but nobody on here has done it, but the mitsi evo lumps can pretty much bolt straight into a coupe.

Re: Bought a Gen 3.5 for some summer fun...and the leather s
this is very interesting news indeed pg3r.
modding is like a drug, can't go too long without it!
If an evo 4 or 5 lump can bolt straight in without too much hassle and i can find a decent stand alone ecu then it might be done in the future.
250 bhp / 250 lb ft of torque in the coupe would be more than sufficient for it to be an absolute hoot to drive!
Its all down to how much money i can afford to throw at the car...
Gonna start my build thread the now so head on over to that section
