We have a 53 plate 2.0 SE, i've done alot of work to it the last 2 years as it seems to have been a bit neglected by the previous owner.
So far ive had to change the radiator, thermostat housing, all brakes which took a weekend and 2 people with a sledgehammer to get the old corroded on discs off. Never on any of my cars have i had that! Maybe because its spent its life in Scotland.......
Today i replaced the rear exhaust boxes and while i was underneath i undersealed the rear part as it wad rather crusty!
Oh and the drivers side electric window cables had snapped and the window had fallen down when i went to it last time. So a new ones been ordered.
Despite all this the car gets under your skin and both my wife and i love it.
I have experience of old air cooled vw's and Hondas so when i found this site I joined immediately as i think i need all the help i can get!
Not the breifest of introductions!
Stu.
