Hi there!
New to HCOC. My 2006 2.0SE Coupe (gen 3.5?) has been in garage for 2 weeks now. Engine turning over, but not firing. Faulty ECU suspected.Any short cuts/tips to easy removal, as garage thinks dashboard will have to come off!
Regards
Cliveyboy

Re: ECU removal gen 3.5 Coupe
You can remove the ECU without removing the dash although its no easy task.
The ECU sits to the left of the blower housing, behind the glovebox
This is what I do....
1.Disconnect negative battery
2.Disconnect and remove the passenger seat( which will give you more room)
3. Lay down on the passenger side floor ( this is much comfortable to work under the dashboard.)
4. Loosen the ECU by removing all the mounting bolts....
5. Disconnect all the wiring plugs to the ECU (prepare for many busted knuckles)
6. Slide out the ECU
You may find it easier to remove the blower housing before removing the ECU although I suspect this is not necessary.
Yes, its time consuming but its not not so hard....
