hello from the coast of north wales!
Hi guys,
I am currently a CELICA gen 5 man, ive had 3 of them over the past 6 years, but my current baby, is reaching the end of her life (she was a victim of a criminal damage on saturday) so am going to move on, after a bit of research, i decided that a hcoop was going to be the car for me. I have long admired the design and style of these and quite honestly, i was shocked at the prices.
Ive got about a grand or maybe a bit more to spend, so i think i am looking at an 2002/2003/2004 model (would that be gen 2 or 3).
ive got loads of questions, but cant ask them here!
Thanx, si

Hello and to the forum
For a grand you should be able to pick up a Gen3 maybe even a 3.5 if your lucky and its not in bad condition
P.S. I'm coming up your way in a couple of weeks so keep an eye out around the Snowdon area

Re: hello from the coast of north wales!
Yep. I've done some more research and I would hope I can get a 3.5, (I don't like the big orange corners on a 3, lol), preferably a 1.6, (any colour that isnt silver) manual, willing to travel for the best car, I'm in colwyn bay.

Re: hello from the coast of north wales!
You may a well get the 2.0 as the insurance and tax is probably no different and the 1.6 is a bit under powered for the size of car.
Get a nice blue one like mine and join the ever expanding Blue coupe club lol

Re: hello from the coast of north wales!
I do really like the blue, tbh.
I was going to ask the 1.6 vs 2.0 question in another forum? Is there no really advantage in costs between them. I have read a bit about mpgs.

Re: hello from the coast of north wales!
Forget the 1.6 waste of time in power, insurance and mpg.
Colwyn bay just got back from there , lovely part of the country.
Careful buying a 3.5 that cheap, they are around but there is usually reasons for that price.
The gen 3 is easy at that price and you may find a clean example, don't worry about the 'orange bits' we can help you get rid of those so your lights look like the later models, just find yourself a decent engine and good bodywork, the rest will come.
Welcome to the forum
Regards Simon

When I say think, I mean provisionally. It's got a short mot, so asked seller to put it in for it. If it passes items mine.
