Hi all
I am new to the Hyundai forum! I am considering purchasing my first Hyundai coupe but wanted to know more about them before I decide to commit. I am currently looking at a 53 plate coupe with 72k and full service history 2.0se. Can anyone tell me what sort of problems these cars have so I know what to look out for?
Thanks
John

Check all electrics - alarm, windows&sunroof, central locking.
Inspect for rust on rear arches, leading edge of bonnet.
Check handbrake release and other brake issues - rear calipers give trouble.
Thats the commonest gen3 issues, may have missed some - obv. this is in addition to the obvious and usual such as service history, abnormal gearchanges/ropy drive etc etc.
As an aside, did I sell you a set of jumpleads back in jan '10 - just seen your username, and these folks were in Watford, IIRC?
No definitely not me mate. I'm a mechanic but only been qualified just over a year and only work on Hondas as its a dealer. So never worked on any hyundai. Thanks for the help mate. Are they easily tuneable?

Re: Newbie here!!
Thank you. I currently have my eye on a gen 3 53 plate with 72k miles. It's going for £1995. Or there's another one exactly same but with 69k miles. What you guys think bout price? Is 72k considered to be high mileage or still got plenty to give?
Thanks
Thanks
Re: Newbie here!!
Ok thanks. Ill most likely if its still available go see it Saturday because they close early plus by the time I finish work its pitch dark and never a good time to look at cars at night.
Thanks for all your help I will come back if I do buy this gen 3
