Re: Newbie
In 2000 i bought a 1999 dark blue 1.6se coupe on a T plate with just 7,000 on the clock paid nearly £12k for it,loved it but lost my job and had to sell, then 3 year ago i bought a 2001 2nd gen 1.6 coupe in silver paid £1700for it had it for 2 years but had to get rid to find money for bond on a house, but now im settled and a few old bangers later got my 2003 2.0L se coupe in dark blue a few niggles here and there nothing major, got her booked in for oil change and cambelt kit etc shes done 127k miles but dont have any history of the car, so im trying to get things sorted bit by bit. Engine sounds sweet and she drives beautiful, it came without the remote key fob too and i dont think the alarm is coming on when i lock the door, the light on the console doesnt flash and i have tested it by putting window down then locking and putting my arm in but nothing, so im guessing the alram has been deactivated for some reason, i cant even find the alarm in the engine bay! Theres a few age related marks especially the bonnet but again im gonna get her sorted bit by bit start with the cambelt and oil change and work may way round. I paid £750 with a full years MOT so not too bad and the wheels are 17" original Hyundai with low profile tyres all in fab condition. So far im really impressed and cant wait to get her like new again.

Re: Newbie
Check out this thread,http://www.hyundaicoupeownersclub.co.uk ... =52&t=8786 - would be great if you could do a quick review of the cars, especially with having owed a 1st,2nd and 3rd Gen!
Which one do you prefer or is it too hard to say?
As for the alarm, there is this thread http://www.hyundaicoupeownersclub.co.uk ... =44&t=9819 to show what to look for in the engine bay,if no luck, post a question in the audio/electrical section

Re: Newbie
Thank you everyone its great to be aboard and great to be driving a coupe again! Having owned 1st 2nd and now 3rd gen i love them all but gotta say my first was very special, i was only taking my dog for its injections prior to going in kennels for an up coming holiday for my 30th birthday and i saw the coupe as i passed a car dealer she was in prize position up on ramps and winking at me how could i resist! Just a year old with 7k on the clock i had to treat myself a 30th treat and that she was. 13 years later im on my 3rd gen had "lola" a week cant believe ive not polished her yet lol. But today the sun is out so i just may be tempted! I will post some pics when i get chance to all.
