Re: best stereo upgrade for siii
Yeah the stock SIII radio is quite rubbish. I replaced the head unit on mine and it sounds a lot better - even if the speakers are stock. I am considering upgrading the speakers into something decent. Not looking for anything powerful or at getting a sub installed (not my scene) - just speakers which can produce and 'audiophile' kind of sound.iansuk wrote:Hello

Re: best stereo upgrade for siii
Hi Everyone.
This is my second coupe. Had a gen 3 back in 2005 which i sadly had to give up after the purchase of a house
love the Siii already late 2009 plate in grey with red leather.
the stereo is truly awful and teh ipod controls are practically useless. Such a shame as i cant fault anything else on the car.
Lenn87uk - what stereo did you upgrade too?
Was it a difficult job to do yourself? im not much of a techie but catch on pretty quick!

Re: best stereo upgrade for siii
I upgraded mine to Sony BT3900U bluetooth head unit. I could have installed it myself, however there is an existing parrot bluetooth system which I wanted to be removed as well. It's too complex for me so I just went to my local car audio specialist (they installed the new head unit + remove old parrot system). The bloke then left the old microphone and plugged it in to the new head unit.
The sound is a lot better (even on stock speakers) and I can stream Spotify. I was considering upgrading my speakers but they sound good at the moment. Looking at Inphase speakers for future upgrade but im happy with the stocks for the time being.
