Hello from the sunny south coast

Hi my wifes got one - I gave her an incentive to pass her driving test by promising her a sports car. She passed her test and for the first year drove a lovely little Matiz. After a year she wanted an MX5 but managed to persuade her on a beautiful 2006 Coupe - only 31,000 miles and immaculate condition - sold by the dealer as ex demo at 800 miles then 1 lady owner ever since. It's only a 1600cc so not exactly a sports car but cheap insurance for a 1 year driver - she loves the car. We have done the brake switch recall and had a leak develop in a rear caliper which has been replaced and new pads all round so hoping for reliable performance from now on. Sounds the part when you blip the throttle - ride is a bit hard - do the later cars improve on the hard ride ??

Hello mate....it's generally accepted the Siii is a bit softer but it does compromise the handling a little bit

Welcome to the Forum,

Fareham eh? I'm from Waterlooville myself so probably seen you about in my travels around Havant/Portsmouth/Fareham :) - Although to be fair you wouldn't notice me in my nondescript Audi :p

First of all welcome to the club ;)
I went from a Gen 3.5 to an SIII and the ride is slightly softer, adding a front strut bar more than makes up for this in the corners however. It's not that expensive and take all of 5min to fit.
