Hi Everyone
I recently bought a red gen 1 2.0 SE S reg 1998 from a guy who got the car as part of a house acquisition.
We have mutual friends who happened to mention he was selling it cos he needed the room even though his wife wanted it. As soon as I saw it I fell in love and for the price he wanted I just had to have it.
It had been garaged for approx 6 years, cos the one lady owner that its had, fell ill and could no longer drive it. It was in really good condition, got through the MOT easier than I expected, just an issue with front brake pads that needed hammering off, brakes needed bleeding, new spare tyre, new mechanism for the passenger window. The rear spoiler needed a re-spray, the inside needed a deep clean, not helped by her being a smoker. I've since put new alloys on, got some new aluminium reg plates to put on and the front bumper has a deep scratch down the side and a few scuffs - might get that re-sprayed as well, but no rust on any of the bodywork. I'm very pleased with it - will get a photo on when I figure out how to do it!
