Hello everyone. Right, me and my coupe. in 2010ish someone put a wall in the path of my Ford Puma and it got written off. that the Puma was going sideways and was being driven far too fast for the road conditions is merely an aside...

Anyway, lesson learned and reasonably skint I needed a car. Being young (ish) and still in my 20's I wanted something vaguely cool looking and I bought my dark bluey purple 2.0 SE coupe on an 03 plate with 2 previous owners and 55k on the clock.

Since buying it lots of bits have fallen off it. 5 handbrake cables, 1 radiator, 1 set of discs, lots of pads, several sets of tyres, one body control module that I bought a new relay for a soldered into place for £4 instead of £750 from Hyundai, an exhaust (£190 off ebay and still going somehow), 1 battery, a timing belt, a water pump and probably a load more I've forgotten.

Then, at 117,000 miles the engine gave up the ghost, a pulley wheel fell off on the M77 and some pistons said hello to some valves and that was the end of my Coupe journey...

...except my car had been the one I had when I'd met my now wife. It'd taken us all over Scotland on day trips and to and from my house etc and we had an emotional attachment to the old thing.

So, despite not needing it as a commuting car anymore the sensible thing to do would be to let the scrappy I'd already called come and take it away but I got all sentimental. Then it got silly.

new engine bought off ebay and delivered to Cambus MOT (just off junction 2a of the M74 in Glasgow, bloody great garage). Some outsourcing later and;

Well, the near 120k engine had gone and a new 60k one was in place. Now the Car had say from September until January with a borked engine etc so whilst it runs there's a few things needing sorted to get it through next years MOT and general things I want to fix so it's been sorned.

I'm lucky enough to have a double length garage so it's been moved indoors and I'm going to attempt to sort a load of stuff myself. I've always dreamed of having my own garage and a car to tinker and it's arrived. Looking forward to this and keeping my and my wifes friend on the road for a long time to come.
