Faulty 2nd/3rd Shift Autobox

F4a42 1/2 autobox fault
Hi Guys
Just a heads up on a gearbox problem I had the other day on a 2005 2 litre Coupe autobox
Symptom: Banging/Harsness 2nd to 3rd gear shift. Worse when hot.
Apparently for this Hyundai modified the two rear cover sealing rings inside the unit. These are of plastic design. There is a field bulletin on this but Hyundai apparently did not release it.
I replaced these seals and flushed out the valve block and replaced it with fresh oil. After a test drive of 39 miles it was 95% better. I suspect that after a few more miles it would be 100% and as the customer has not rang back after 2 months I assume this to be correct.
The customer was a lady of 74 and had taken it to the Hyundai dealer who sad they could not find a fault of test. When it changed gear it was like running over something -it was that bad.. this after 1/2 mile of testing

some dealerships really make you wonder, and by no means is it just hyundai
